21 AGED

* kind of a very late post, so its going to be lengthy ... 

 

First impression on AGE 21? OMG! So fast!

Why? Cause people around me are teasing me about being “OLD”.

What does AGE 21 means to me?

I’m getting older year by year.

I am stepping into “adulthood”, stepping into this complex world.

Freedom is no longer the question.

I am responsible towards to my actions

Maturity, sensibility, responsibility has to be part of me.

What are the benefits of AGE 21?

I got the incentives from the government!

I remembered for the past few years, my mom reminded me of it, which I got to see, but it doesn’t come into my pocket…

I have my rights to do whatever I want lor …

So, what I can do?

Basically anything without parental consent!

Like I said, I’m responsible towards my actions.

Eg: 

I can get married.

Abortion (Choy!)

Watching R21 (Restricted) movie legally 
Medical operations/scans consents  
Vote for the elections

How am I feeling about being 21?

It seems like getting to age 21; adulthood is a major milestone for everyone. However, I’m feeling nonchalant about this. Maybe because it either makes no different to me or I simply doesn’t care about it. What’s the big deal about age 21?

Recently, before my birthday which is some time ago, I had an argument with my mom.

 Mom: would u want to hold a chalet to celebrate your birthday?
Mom: okie?

ME: I don’t want.

Mom: why??

ME: I don’t feel like.

Mom: why lei?

ME: cause I don’t feel like lor. (starting to get irritated)

Mom: This time is different, because you are turning 21.

ME: so what’s the big deal about being 21?

Mom: 21 is significant.

ME: why 21, why not 20, 19 or 22?

Mom: it’s different la! It shows that u are being adult!

ME: So? What’s the big fuss about it?

ME: To me, it all means the same, nothing different, no big deal la. Save trouble la.

Mom: But aunties they all are asking about your birthday thingy.

ME: I don’t want la.

ME: New Year eve lei, people are busy-ing preparing for New Year, and then you ask me to come up with chalet. Not a very good time rite?

Mom: you know, like that maybe your angbao will be bigger and more also.

ME: although I like $ a lot, I won’t want to create trouble for myself.

Mom: Aiya, whatever la, think about it k?

 End of conversation.

One thing I’m good at: “talking back”.

She gave up the thought after talking to me. Which I think was good, because I know I won’t be a good host to entertain people. I think it will end up quite badly, so I’m lucky to have it avoided!

As I said, it’s a normal birthday like every year; I celebrated with my different cliques and was very happy about it as many people remembered it! I guess I’m not that bad ….

PART 1

As being traditional, I’m not sure if everyone else family would have it or not.

Practically for everyone’s birthday in my family, we would be eating meesua (面线). It would be a very sumptuous bowl of noodles with lots of ingredients and additional of a drumstick and 2 eggs.

For the drumsticks and 2 eggs, my mom used to tell me about this lucky number; 100, something like scroll 100 marks for examinations, so when one eat, one will score well.

 Even if we don’t want to eat them, we still have to take a bite for auspicious signs, which is superstitious when one gets older.

So I had my meesua on my Chinese birthday.

PART 2

 I met up with my sweetie Fiona!

She was the first who requested to date me and I was very happy about it. We seldom meet up due to the crash of timing.

All we did was EAT all day. The purpose was mainly to catch up with one another’s life. She’s busying working while I’m slacking at school and also we gossiped about other people. Typical huh…

I’m really glad that we met up. She is always so sweet to others, showing care and concern that people needs. A very warm girl that will brighten my day with her smiles (:

We had Ajisan for lunch as her first try; I hope it didn’t bore her out.

We went toilet like always girls would do in toilet.

After which we had our "business finished" inside the toilet, we went to Coffee Bean to chill out.

I had my Chicago cheesecake, while she had carrot cake for herself. She ordered carrot cake is basically to let me have a taste of it as I had never tried it before. So sweet of her rite?

Then we went toilet again as I had small bladder, need to urine more frequent then other people. So, we make use of the time to snap some shots as well.

PART 3

 Met up with W35Q people.

Celebrated many birthday and it’s finally my turn to be celebrated. Something good about this is being out of the organising team, so I does not need to be involved in any thinking part!

Besides being funny, it does show the love between couples.

I love the part where the guy is being kidnapped by his mother and sister in laws.

Dammed funny.

So this bunch of sexy back people celebrated my birthday with me.

We settled down at the café to chill out before heading home…

Haha … so touched that they spent so much effort and money to buy the bag. This crutch bag came in handy as I needed one too!

PART 4

 On Birthday eve and New Year eve, my BFFs celebrated birthday for me.

We went singing early in the morning as they had reunion dinner with their family later on the day.

We have known each other since secondary 1, which was like looonnggg ago when I think back.

This singing session came at a right time as I needed one badly for no reason.

I remembered that i kept on pulling her black sockings until she was about to hit me ... LOL 

 

They got me a topshop bag!

I LOVE the bag a lot as it’s versatile in shape! The magnet buttons would make the normal looking bag to a big based bag when I unhook the button. It is best when I’m searching for stuffs, especially when I’m bringing a lot of stuffs out.

LUB IT!!

I enjoyed a lot with their company!

PART 5

 I met up with Shiqi and Danny after Chinese New Year!!

Shiqi was my primary five classmate, while Danny was introduced to me through Shiqi.

A little intro on both of them:

  

Shiqi: A very 三八 girl whom I like a lot. She’s not very tall, in fact a little shorter than I do. She has her own unique fashion sense which I always like about her. She may be a little fierce look when she’s not smiling, but definitely she’s a very nice person to be with.

Danny: I remembered that day we met. First impression of him would be a very easy going person BUT easily deceived by others. He is always so active to gather us together so that we would be able to meet up for chats. When I’m feeling down, he would tried to cheer me up.

BTW, 3 of us are on the same age! I dunno why I’m so excited to explain this. It may be of age identification where we belong to the same category.

We went here on that day!

While waiting for Danny to arrive, both of us when shopping first. I managed to get myself two pieces of spaghetti top which I’m very happy about as I’m quite fussy with finding the ideal kind.

We thought of having buffet in the first place but were cancelled by me. So I told them to meet at Vivo and we’ll just pick on a restaurant to eat in.

After we walked round the whole place, we decided to dine in at “shin KUSHIYA” after voting. Obviously it’s two against one, it was “shin KUSHIYA” vs. “The mussels guys” (if I remembered correctly).

It was my first time stepping into the restaurant.

Like I always says: “there is always first time to everything”. So, I have broadened the taste to my taste buds! 

They had salad with miso as their starters. I like it a lot with the salty miso on the raw vegetables, so it goes “crunch, crunch, crunch” in the mouth. It was tasty even though it was plain raw vegetables.

Next, we moved on the second dining place: “The mussels guys”

Shiqi couldn’t find any food she likes at shin KUSHIYA, so we went to the place she suggested earlier on.

 My first try as well. I could say that their mussels are really fresh and its gooood.

  We were bored as only Shiqi is eating. Again, we are in our own world to kill the time.

Wee time!

We ignored the fact that Danny is waiting outside the ladies, and took our own sweet time to walk out of the toilet.

We went topshop after dinner to get some stuffs.

So while waiting for Shiqi to choose the undergarments, we took the time to take some shots.

 

PART 6

 The below mentioned are those who remembered my birthday and especially having thought and personally deliver the presents to me…

So I just want to say thank you for all the effort!

First up!

My sis is a well known among my friends. I talked a lot about her when I’m around with my friends.

She got me something I really like! Even though I keep saying that I want cash…. Lol..

Cash is the most useful thing to me as I can get whatever I want to do with it.

But I didn’t expect that she got me cash and additional stuff.

I was guessing while holding the box. But none of my guesses are correct, so I really really didn’t expect it.

So it was this and this!

I think she got it from EBay and imported from Korea.

Aren’t they cute?

I fell in love with them instantly when I got them into my hands.

I was going: “ahhh!!, woooo!!! Wohhh!! weeee!!” when I was flipping the dairy. Couldn’t hold the emotion inside me …

Second up!

I received a call from Qiutin when I was having my reunion lunch. I thought she wanted to ask me out for shopping as she was asking where I am. So we hanged up the phone when I told her about my lunch. I didn’t think much and headed home after the lunch. But then I received her call again and requested to meet me on my block’s staircase. So I didn’t think much and headed down to meet her.

She actually went to hunt for my present earlier on and to check out where I am. So sweet of her. I feel bad when  I heard that she’s not feeling well.

Anyway, she got me a necklace is rather vintage looking and it comes in to my collection of accessories, rather good as I does not have this type of necklace. I been wearing it recently..

Third up!

Yvonne is also known as Yiwen. I know her since primary one, so it would be 14 years of friendship so far. I think she moved out of Bedok area and changed school during primary 4. So we seldom contact one another. But we do write letter to one another once in awhile (it was quite popular to write letter on my generation).

She would send birthday and New Year regards every year without fail. But as for me, I was the rather heartless fellow who always received but hardly does such thing. Haiz …

But I’m glad that we meet up recently. She got me a purse, those clipping type. It would surely come in handy for me!

Fourth up!

I met up with this guy and he got me my birthday present. So nice of him to prepare present for me even though we didn’t know each other for very long. I was quite shocked when I open up the present. I would say it was quite interesting and surprising for me to receive it from him.

It was handicraft that he made. I hardly see guys who are meticulous like him. I like it because it’s really his effort to make it for me and they really look nice. It was thoughtful of him to get a charm for me when I told him about my bad dream incidents.

So, a nice guy! LOL
